Development of LogoPlus 1.1 is underway

I figured that rather then just sit around, I could jump straight into making some nice improvements to LogoPlus - things that I had in mind but just couldn't make it into version 1.0.

I started by performing detailed instrumentation to identify key areas of the product that could stand some optimization for better performance.

I identified two key areas where I could make improvements: arithmetic and conditional expression evaluation. With a few "simple" (ok, not really simple) changes in those two areas, I was able to improve program execution speed by over 10x-1000x in most cases. This means that calculation-intensive programs like those that draw fractals will run significantly faster in version 1.1.

I am also going to introduce the MAKE expression in version 1.1 which will allow you to assign or set the value of a local or global variable. This will allow you to write much more complex programs such as my new sample (also included in version 1.1) that draws a Mandelbrot set.

I have a few other ideas in the works but I'll leave those as a surprise for now.
